BENCHAM'S NEW MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE 2009

BenCham is there for you, our members, and membership fees are BenCham¡¯s lifeblood. The BenCham Boards in Shanghai and Beijing thank all of you for enabling us to give you interesting events, varied networking opportunities, focused SME support, advice to young professionals, a useful directory, and news and information that is up-to-date and to-the-point.

We are growing fast. Membership is increasing, which proves that China continues to attract Benelux investors and that BenCham caters to an objective need; our range of activities is expanding as well, so as to serve you better.  

Naturally, though, expansion must be financed. We had not adjusted membership fees since 2006. During the AGM in Shanghai and the EGM in Beijing you have voted in favor of our proposition to increase memberships with an average of 10% only.

We have also decided to use this opportunity to broaden the range of our membership categories, and better adapt them to the specific needs of your companies. At the same time we are convinced this will make BenCham membership a worthwhile proposition to companies who hitherto did not join, and therefore provide better and broader network opportunities for our members. 

From 2009 onwards, BenCham will offer:

Corporate Membership for Large enterprises (>500 employees worldwide)

From 2009 onwards all BenCham memberships will be part of a rolling membership system, i.e. membership at whatever date entered upon will henceforth be renewable ¨C rolled over ¨C one year (and no less than one year) thereafter. Improved efficiency and more predictable cash-flow are the intended results.   

The BenCham Board and management firmly believe that thanks to these proposed measures we will allow ourselves to develop the Chamber¡¯s activities and services to the common benefit of us all.
